One of our favorite local places to grab a glass of wine is The Attic Door. Located in historic Downtown Winter Garden, this boutique style lounge/bar has the most endearing atmosphere. 

Their live music features the acoustic versions of soft alternative rock. The lounge is filled with comfy couches, chairs, and pillows. Everything is unique, from the ceiling to the curtains. They offer a variety of delicious tapa style snacks, and it's the perfect place to grab a craft beer or glass of wine. 

If you're in the area and looking for a date night, girls night, or a relaxing place to enjoy live music, good food and drinks, and a great atmosphere, this is the place to try!

Nespresso: Vanilla Honey Latte

I am a coffee addict.

With that being said, last Christmas I gifted a Nespresso maker to myself. I've always wanted an espresso maker. Everytime I make a trip to my local coffee shop i'm mesmerized by the baristas ability to make those adorable little leaves in my latte. I will learn how to do that one day!! But until then...being the semi-lazy person I am, I decided to invest in a Nespresso machine that requires no skill whatsoever to get amazing quality espresso.

The Veurtoline Nespresso maker, which is the one that I own, makes espresso and also full cups of coffee. This is a recipe I came up with that will make you re-think your daily trip to Starbucks! The perfect drink for hot summer days!

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Nespresso Altissio capsule 
  • 1 teaspoon honey 
  • 1/4 cup 1% milk (or skim)
  • 1/4 cup half & half
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ice

1) Brew Altissio espresso capsule 

2) Stir in honey

3) Pour espresso and honey over ice and stir. Add in milk, half & half, and vanilla and shake.

Crock Pot Salsa Chicken

This may be the easiest recipe ever, and that's exactly why we love it. This is something that can be made on a Sunday night, and eaten throughout the entire week! Perfect for those of you with busy schedules who don't have time to cook every night. Having this prepared for your week will make it easier to make healthier choices, rather than grabbing fast food because you're in a time crunch. 

The meal is Crock Pot Salsa chicken, and it only contains 3 ingredients. 

1. Boneless chicken breasts (about 4)
2. A jar of salsa
3. A packet of taco seasoning (optional)
*Other seasons can be substituted based on preference. 

Simply add all ingredients into your crock pot, and set it on high for 4 hours. Once it's done, shred the chicken with a fork. You now have a base for a number of meals - both lunch and dinner. Some of our favorites are:

- Salsa chicken tacos
- Salsa chicken quesadillas 
- Salad topped with salsa chicken
- Spinach or lettuce wraps 
- Salsa chicken with a side of either of or mixed with quinoa, rice, or vegetables  (or a combination)

This is one of the simplest ways to prep your week for healthy eating and gives you room for variety! And it tastes delicious, too.
