Makeup Table Organization & Decor

Aubrie BlacktonComment

After many years of doing my makeup on the floor in front of my full length mirror, I recently decided to dedicate an area of my room to a makeup table.

This table from IKEA was inexpensive and is great for storing makeup because the drawers are so deep! I found a huge comfy chair to sit in so I can relax while getting ready. To add some personal feel to the area, I hung two floating shelves from IKEA to display photos above the table.

For additional storage I purchased a makeup drawer (seen on the far right of the table) from Muji. For my makeup brush storage I use a flower pot from IKEA and for my smaller brushes I use this adorable flower vase from Anthropolgie.

Having a dedicated space for makeup makes getting ready fun! :)

As always, thanks for stopping by!

A Love for Statement Pieces

Megan CrevierComment

I love simplicity more than anything in the world. However, I have a few statement pieces in my home that I love, and am a firm believer that statement pieces can make any room really pop and come together wonderfully.

My absolute favorite statement pieces are in my living room.

The first is my fire engine red IKEA bookshelf. It is filled with photos of family and friends, books, and trinkets from my travels.

My other favorite living room piece is the artwork hung on the walls. When I first moved into my apartment, I knew I wanted to hang artwork. I began searching and it was just crazy expensive for the size I wanted! So I asked for large canvases for Christmas, and did the paintings myself. I don’t claim to be a great artist, but I am convinced that anyone can create a beautiful abstract piece, because there is no wrong way to do it.

These two red pieces are paired a simple black couch, white ottoman and dark chocolate brown shelving.

I would dare to say that any statement piece can completely turn a room around. Use your artistic side to create your own, or search until you find the perfect piece that meets your style and budget to give your space a little pop.
