Malibu Wines

Megan Crevier1 Comment

Today, I wanted to reminisce on one of my favorite places. This little gem is located in Malibu, California on Millholland Hwy and is the PERFECT way to spend an afternoon. The view is breathtaking, the wine is more than delicious, and the atmosphere is something magical.

I spent my time here sipping on flights of wine (so I could taste them all, obviously) while drinking in the mountainous view, something this Florida girl could only dream of before this. The weather was absolutely incredible, and the feeling of relaxation found here is something I miss just as much as the wine!

Looking for a way to spend some time in California? This place will not disappoint, and you'll find yourself not wanting to leave!

The Don Cesar - aka "The Pink Palace"

adventure, travel, swimwear, fashionMegan CrevierComment

The two of us have agreed that The Don Cesar may be one of the most magical places we have ever visited. Upon entering the pink palace, you feel as if you have just stepped directly into "The Great Gatsby" (F. Scott Fitzgerald actually visited this place frequently in the 20’s, not joking).

It is said that Thomas Rowe built the hotel for the love of his life. The two were forbidden to be together by her parents, and she died before they could ever be. He moved to St. Petersburg and built the Don as a tribute.

After his death and the Great Depression, the Don served as a hospital throughout World War II, then was re-opened in the 70’s as a resort. Today, you can visit and stay at the beautiful and historic property, but be aware - many have reported that it is haunted!

Breakfast, served beach-side.

There are several restaurants on the property, two gorgeous swimming pools, and no lack of activities to participate in. We learned during our latest visit that they import their sand from France, and it is incredible. They also let you bring your pets - a must for Meg and her little wiener dog, Marley! If you’re looking for a weekend getaway spot or even just a day trip, look no further!

The Grove

Megan CrevierComment

One of the most magical places in California (in my opinion) is the Grove. When I first arrived I was immediately in love with the positive atmosphere I felt there. Every store you could think of in the same vicinity, the most gorgeous weather as you walk from place to place, and some of the best people watching. It’s no wonder why this place is so talked about among locals - its basically everything a shopping lover could ever ask for.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a taping of E! News while I was there, and it made me fall even more in love with the place. The Grove is a definite must if you’re planning a trip to CA, and if you’re a local, lucky you!

Treasure of Tampa - The Oxford Exchange

Aubrie BlacktonComment

Right in the heart of downtown Tampa lies a little treasure called The Oxford Exchange. When I first stepped into the building I immediately felt like this place belonged in New York or LA. Inside the building there are endless sites, from a coffee shop and tea bar, to the most unique restaurant I’ve ever seen. The second story is a members only library and lounge with access to any food or beverage served at the Oxford Exchange. This is hands down one of my favorite places to be. I could lounge here and people watch for hours. If you find yourself in Tampa or just passing through, this is a must see.

Dining NYC

travel, adventureAubrie BlacktonComment

My most recent trip to New York City was unlike all of my others. Of course, we had our fair share of shopping but this time around we wanted to really explore and venture out to new restaurants or spots to grab a drink.

Let me start by saying...New York is filled with unique places but these are by far some of the coolest places I have ever seen. If only there were more sites like this in Orlando!

Beauty and Essex

This speakeasy is located behind the doors of a pawn shop. I know, I know...hard concept to visualize. When our cab pulled up I thought we had arrived at a wrong location. A little hesitant, we walked in and through the pawn shop doors was the most amazing winding staircase with beautiful people everywhere I looked. Make sure to have a reservation...this hot spot fills up quickly even on weekdays. The food was amazing, especially the tuna wonton tacos, and the upstairs bar is a quaint yet entertaining hangout for after dinner drinks.

One of the more well known places in the city, Lavo is known for their chic atmosphere, amazing italian food, and their basement nightclub that hosts some of the most famous faces in the music industry. I had been to TAO, which was great and has the same owner, so we had to check it out! Lavo is filled with amazing decor and young faces. If you're looking for a place to have a birthday or bachelorette party dinner, this would be it.

Salon De Ning

This bar sits on the rooftop of the fabulous Peninsula Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The breathtaking views were worth our 30 minute wait to lounge on the rooftop while sipping on Pinot Grigio. From the decor down to the music, everything was amazing. This is a great place for couples or for anyone who wants a laid back atmosphere.

What are your favorite places in the city!?

Savannah Favorites

travel, adventureMegan CrevierComment

We just spent the weekend in Savannah, GA for Aubrie’s bachelorette party and had a blast! We put together a list of our favorite places that we would absolutely recommend for a trip to Savannah, no matter the occasion.

Chive Seabar & Lounge

We stopped into this quaint lounge before our dinner reservations one night, and instantly fell in love. The place was dripping in gorgeous chandeliers and a black and white Audrey Hepburn was playing on the flat screen mounted to the wall. The bartenders were super friendly, and came up with creative concoctions when we couldn't decide what to drink!

Rocks on the Roof

The live music and unique decor aren’t the only things that make this place great. After an elevator ride to the top of the Bohemian, you’ll find yourself overlooking the Savannah River with a gorgeous view of Talmadge Memorial Bridge. The atmosphere is fantastic, and it was such a blast, we actually came back twice throughout the weekend!

The Paris Market & Brocante

Located off of Broughton Street, The French Market feels like it was plucked out of Paris and placed in Savannah. This two story shop holds the most unique items like fresh cut lavender and french soaps. Down in the basement you’ll find beautiful chandeliers, countless books, and incredible decor. And don’t forget to grab a macaroon and an iced chai!

Savannah Smiles Dueling Pianos

This dueling piano bar is the perfect stop, especially if you’re with a group of friends or are celebrating a special occasion. Both pianist duel it out with party ballads and feel-good music. If you give a pianist a napkin with the guest of honor’s name (and a tip), they’ll bring them up on stage and serenade them with hilarious, original songs.

The Olde Pink House

An absolute MUST for dinner. This historic, 3 story home has been transformed into a restaurant in which you dine in the different rooms. Stop down in the basement for a drink while you wait for you table, the only lighting in the room is supplied by tall candle sticks. Their food is to die for, and if you’re lucky, the serenading lady will stop by your table and sing you a song. Oh, and be careful in the elevator and the bathrooms, they're haunted!

These are just a few of our favorite spots from this incredible city! We definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a place to getaway with friends or a significant other, a birthday trip, or like us, a bachelorette weekend. This town has no shortage of unique bars, restaurants, and shops, and you’ll spend your time stumbling into adventures all throughout your stay.

Vilano Beach

adventure, travelMegan CrevierComment

A gorgeous little beach town I love to visit is Vilano Beach, off the East coast of Florida. Its a clean beach that's generally not crowded like other beaches you’ll find in Florida. You can also drive on it, so you don’t have to lug your things down to the ocean for a waterside picnic.

Vilano Beach

A few miles down the road you’ll find the historic town of St. Augustine if you feel like taking a trip to the old fort Castillo de San Marcos, going on a ghost tour, or visiting a haunted bar after your beach day!

Abalone Cove Shoreline Park

adventure, travelMegan CrevierComment

One of my favorite places in the state of California is the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park. Located in  Rancho Palos Verdes, this little gem is one of the most breathtaking places I visited in CA. After a short hike, the path opens up to the gorgeous, mountainous coast, and this Florida girl had never seen anything like it.

If you walk down the path even further, it takes you down to the shoreline where you can walk among the shells and watch all the little creatures in the tide pools. If I ever make it back to California, you can bet I will be visiting this spot again.
